Our track record
Launched in 2004, Ediston Real Estate manages over £750m of property assets for institutional investors across the UK.
Following a number of successful transactions between 2004 and late-2006, the company consciously withdrew from the market as pricing became unsustainable. In 2007 we launched the Ediston Opportunity Fund which, despite the very aggressive pricing of UK real estate and our expectation of price falls, successfully raised substantial equity from UK pension funds and debt from RBS.
Ediston returned to investment mode in 2009/2010 and has been actively investing since, both through the Ediston Opportunity Fund and with newly raised funds through the Ediston UK Real Estate Trust, launched in 2012.
To further illustrate our success in securing new business, Ediston was selected as Investment Partner and Manager for the Clydebuilt Fund, a new vehicle within Strathclyde Pension Fund launched in January 2014.
In November 2014 Ediston, supported by Canaccord Genuity, successfully launched a new listed Real Estate Investment Trust on the ‘main market’ of the London Stock Exchange. The REIT known as Ediston Property Investment Company Plc raised £95m at its IPO, and has since raised its asset value to £320m following the purchase of four retail parks in December 2017.
In January 2015 Ediston launched a third joint venture platform with Europa Capital for further investment in UK regional markets. The new Luxembourg SARL has £140m of which £75m has been deployed to December 2015.
